Chateau Zbiroh lies approximately 45 minutes from Prague along the D5 motorway towards Plzeň and only 30 minutes away from Prague’s Ruzyně Airport. It was the first aristocratic castle in Bohemia; originally Gothic and dating from the end of the 12^th century. It was gradually reconstructed as a Neo-Renaissance castle, which is its current day charm. Its former owners included King Přemysl Otakar II and Emperors Charles IV, Zikmund and Rudolf II. Zbiroh castle, set in 60 hectares of English-styled parkland, has a large number of salons and halls, a castle chapel and the oldest castle tower in Bohemia.

A great variety of cultural and social events can be held in the castle and its magnificent grounds. The medieval Rudolf II tavern, with its period set atmosphere, interiors and original specialties, is located within the heart of the castle. The castle’s salons and halls also include a large Neo-Renaissance hall which boasts an original curtain by Alfons Mucha who lived here for 18 years and painted his famous Slav Epic at the castle. Chateau Zbiroh can host any minimal amount of guests or up to 1000 guests for outdoor events. We can provide 6 castle salons with a capacity of 10 to 50 people for separate or private business meetings and 2 big halls (Mucha Hall and Heraldic Hall) for up to 200 people for any type of event.
